Today, the lowly dandelion was transformed from an annoying weed, to another beautiful testament of grace with a sweet memory attached to it.
I was playing in the grass with my little one, and it wasn't long before he picked up a fuzzy dandelion, and jammed it in his mouth. As he did, he quickly sniffed and sputtered it out. He made faces, itched and made quite the fuss. Wanting to avoid a full-blown fit of irritation, I decided to make light of the situation by mimicking him with a fuss of my own: sneezing, blowing raspberries and making a general spectacle of myself.
Spence thought that this was quite hilarious.
So, he picked up another dandelion and rubbed it against his nose, and waited for my reaction
-which I repeated in kind.
This went on and on for ten minutes. We had so much fun playing with the dandelions that
when we went out later, and guess what was the first thing he went for? I wonder if GOD made dandelions with the added intention of tickling babies with them?
Now, they are forever changed for me. Never to be confused with a nuisance again; only a reminder of joy that makes my baby giggle.
To the pure, all things are pure...
