All about eleven.

Funny enough, my boys birthdays are ten years, one day apart. Given that this is the first year that I have had to plan for two birthdays at once, I still haven't created a rhythm to the festivities yet. I knew that I wanted both to be special. And I felt it was important for Gabe to be blessed in the midst of a pretty busy season for him.
We came up with the idea of giving him a scavenger hunt; to end up at eleven destinations based on clues written on a map. Double bonus: he could check out some of the sights and sounds in his new city.
the whole SHABANG  started at 11:11 am

Among other things, the boys had to find a library book with the word "birthday" in it.
The kids had fun with DIY Modeling Chocolate cake decorating project.
All you do is pour a bag of chocolate melts in a microwave safe bowl and
microwave in 30 second intervals until smooth and creamy stirring in between.
I only need to microwave for one minute total.
Next, gradually drizzle in 1/3 Cup corn syrup
as you stir, it will stiffen and become moldable. When it starts to pull away from the
the sides of the bowl, you can pick it up and knead it in your hands for a minute or two. Then cover with plastic wrap and let it rest. *Modeling chocolate may form a waxy film as it sits/cools.
This is normal and can be worked into the medium as you continue to knead and form it.

The kids really liked being in charge of decorating the cake. They ended up going with a Lego theme, covering it in a slew of mini figures. It was just up his alley, which was exactly what we were after!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LITTLE MAN!

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"
Jer.29:11

Gabriel has been given the gift of GENTLENESS and MERCY.
Rare in men.
May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement good hope,  encourage your heart and strengthen you in every good deed and word. 2 Thess. 2:16
