Love is in zeeee air, mon cheri.

Hmmmm....do you get the sense that another marketing opportunity  (er, I mean) holiday is right around the corner?! There is no mistaking it. The big, red heart-shaped boxes of chocolates are out in full force, preying upon my new year's dieting resolution.
But hey, you know what? I say: BRING IT ON!
I love me some Valentines, and I don't care who knows it.
I love any excuse to celebrate love, teach my kids thoughtfulness, and bless the hubster!
My favorite thing to do is find the corniest, tackiest, over-the-top Valentine I can. It becomes a matter of out-doing you're hunnie's efforts, and is quite hilarious! I will be sure to share what I find.
In the meantime, we need to start thinking about mailing out Valentines for family back east.
Here's an option that we made last year.
Gabe makes valentines for his sisters every year.
wrap pieces of tissue paper around a pencil eraser, dip tip in glue,
 press into place, and repeat

Making sweets with the sweets...
We hulled out the core of some strawberries, creating little cups that we could fill with ganache
Ganache recipe=2 parts chocolate to 1 part heavy cream. I used chocolate chips today, but
I have to say that the easy melt chocolate wafer candies work much better.
Fill pastry bag and pipe while ganache is warm.
I use an egg carton to help hold the strawberries while we fill them.
I have also used this method to fill with whipped cream and mousse.
