Couldn't see it all in one day, so we went again...

Dad had never been to a kid's museum before
He kind of liked it.

Redeeming the weeds

Today, the lowly dandelion was transformed from an annoying weed, to another beautiful testament of grace with a sweet memory attached to it.
I was playing in the grass with my little one, and it wasn't long before he picked up a fuzzy dandelion, and jammed it in his mouth. As he did, he quickly sniffed and sputtered it out. He made faces, itched and made quite the fuss. Wanting to avoid a full-blown fit of irritation, I decided to make light of the situation by mimicking him with a fuss of my own: sneezing, blowing raspberries and making a general spectacle of myself.

Spence thought that this was quite hilarious.
So, he picked up another dandelion and rubbed it against his nose, and waited for my reaction
-which I repeated in kind.
This went on and on for ten minutes. We had so much fun playing with the dandelions that
when we went out later, and guess what was the first thing he went for? I wonder if GOD made dandelions with the added intention of tickling babies with them?

Now, they are forever changed for me. Never to be confused with a nuisance again; only a reminder of joy that makes my baby giggle.

To the pure, all things are pure...

Day 5: My Happy Place

I couldn't wait to revisit my favorite bird feeding spot. I used to take my older kids all the time, but hadn't been back to introduce the littles to it yet...until now. It's funny how I always seem to find my way back to the woods.

J's turn...

But wait! There's more...
A proper bagel for lunch! Oh, carbs. How I love you and hate you at the same time.

Per Hubby's request, we had Mother's Day dinner from Tom Wahl's, a favorite local burger joint, known for its homemade, icey root beer and burger buns.
Dessert was allllllll me, though.

Where a day can take you: NY Day 1

Well, hello Rt 90.  Haven't seen you in a while! I love being only seven hours away from  family hugs!
Waited a whole year to get a hug from Gram, who flew out to visit after Spence was born :)
Poppy built this swing set especially for his grandkids' visit.
